Cyclopropylamine is vluchtig en ruikt naar ammoniak. Het is mengbaar met water, methanol, ethanol, benzeen, tolueen en andere oplosmiddelen.

Het kan worden gebruikt bij de synthese van nieuwe antibacteriële producten, zoals ciprofloxacine, enrofloxacine, sparfloxacine, enzovoort. Daarnaast is cyclopropylamine ook een belangrijk tussenproduct voor de synthese van landbouwchemicaliën, plantbeschermers en herbiciden, zoals 2-chloor-4-6-cyclopropyltriazine, cyclopropylamine, cyclopropazine, cyclopropazine en ander cyclopropazine.
